The suspension of the Deputy Secretary General of Parliament is against democracy.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has said in a post on his ‘X’ account that the decision to suspend Chaminda Kularatne, who served as the Deputy Secretary General of Parliament, is an arbitrary and anti-democratic act.

He further stated in his ‘X’ message that this suspension is a violation of the basic principles of democracy and that he will therefore question this unjust act in Parliament.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has pointed out in his Twitter message that Parliament has deprived the Deputy Secretary General of the basic democratic right to present evidence regarding the allegations against him before subjecting any person to any punishment.

He further states that taking steps to suspend the service without consulting the Deputy General Secretary is a serious problem.
