The court has ordered the remand of former Parliamentarian Sajin Vass Gunawardena, who was arrested by the Commission for the Prevention of Bribery or Corruption on charges of illegally obtaining a sum of Rs. 243.8 million, until March 24.
He was arrested this morning (09) when he arrived at the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption to give a statement regarding an investigation into the acquisition of assets.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama, who considered the facts presented regarding the suspected former MP, who was presented to the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court, ordered his remand.
