Deth tall exceed 2200 in Venezuela earthquake

The official death toll from the very severe earthquake that hit Venezuela has risen to 2,295.

The rescue operation, which entered its seventh day today (02), is facing a major challenge for the new government in Venezuela in terms of finding the missing and providing relief to the displaced.

On June 24, two earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale struck north-central Venezuela, 39 seconds apart.

According to the latest reports, 11,267 people have been injured in the disaster. 782 aftershocks have been reported since the main earthquake, but its intensity is gradually decreasing.

More than 4,000 international rescue workers and 26,000 Venezuelan military, police, firefighters, and more than 17,800 volunteers are currently deployed to the affected areas.

The United Nations and international aid groups estimate that nearly 50,000 people are still missing or unaccounted for.

This is evidence that a large number of bodies are still buried under the rubble of collapsed apartments and buildings, and residents fear that the true death toll could be much higher.
