The Supreme Court today confirmed the death sentences awarded to four people sentenced to death for the rape and murder of Sivaloganathan Vidya.
On September 27, 2015, a three-judge bench of the Jaffna High Court convicted and sentenced four convicts, including Mahalingam Shashikumar alias Swiss Kumar, to death for the murder of Sivaloganathan Vidya.
A five-judge bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena, today decided to dismiss the appeal petitions filed by them against that verdict.
