The Criminal Investigation Department has withdrawn the fundamental rights petition filed by former Minister Manusha Nanayakkara seeking an order to prevent his arrest in connection with the Korean visa incident.
Yesterday (19) Judge S. When the petition was taken up before a three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Thurai Raja, President’s Counsel Saliya Peiris, appearing for the petitioner, stated that the Criminal Investigation Department had informed the Magistrate’s Court that his client would not be arrested at this time.
Accordingly, the President’s Counsel requested the court to allow the petition to be withdrawn and that there was no need to maintain the petition. The bench accepted the request and granted permission to withdraw the petition.
