President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that the current tens of thousands of young people have developed a great attraction and interest in the Dhamma sermons of Venerable Kathnoruwe Siridhamma Thero.
The President further said that the entire state should be grateful for the pioneering role played by the Siridhamma Thero in inspiring the new youth generation to rally around the temple and the Dhamma, changing the traditional view that temples or religious activities are limited to the elderly.
The President also stated that for the first time in Sri Lanka’s history, the political influences and patronage behind the drug and crime epidemic have been completely removed and that he can assure the country that no such destructive act will receive political protection or protection from the current government.
The President said that security officials are making every effort to close this destructive gate, but a government cannot do this alone through acts and laws. Therefore, the President said that the contribution of young monks like Kathnoruwe Siridhamma Thero is needed to bring about spiritual transformation.
