The Cabinet has decided to review the Grade 6 English module in the education reform process that has already begun and postpone its implementation until 2027, said Minister Nalinda Jayatissa in a cabinet statement.
He said this while participating in the media briefing held today (13) to announce cabinet decisions.
However, he added that the education reforms related to Grade 1 will be implemented from this year as planned.
Cabinet Media Spokesperson Minister Nalinda Jayatissa further stated that after studying the investigation reports conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department and the National Institute of Education regarding the Grade 6 English module in question, the Governing Council of the National Institute of Education will take disciplinary action against the responsible officials.
