The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption recorded a lengthy statement from Attorney-at-Law Chaminda Kularatne, who served as the former Deputy Secretary General of Parliament and Chief of Staff, yesterday (21).
He was questioned for nearly five hours after being summoned to appear before the Commission. The Commission states that this statement was recorded in connection with an ongoing investigation into the appointment process. These questions were made in connection with his appointment as Deputy Secretary General of Parliament.
Deputy Secretary General Chaminda Kularatne was suspended from his duties on the recommendations of a committee appointed by the Speaker, and he has approached the court against this.
