Jacek Goryszewski, the spokesman of the polish military, said that the Russian missile attack on critical infrastructure in Lviv in the western part of Ukraine violated the Polish airspace yesterday morning.
He added that the attack, which used Russian cruise missiles, was observed by the Polish radar system. .
Speaking to foreign media, the Polish military spokesman said the missile traveled about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) in Polish airspace before Ukraine.
Although Russia has not yet responded to the invasion of Polish airspace, Warsaw authorities say that they are demanding an explanation from Moscow.
Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz commented on this and said that his country will continue to provide military and humanitarian support to Ukraine.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy said the attack had damaged its country’s energy sources and was reporting blackouts. The statement also states that the export of energy has been stopped due to that atrack.
Sirhi Popko, the head of the Kiev military administration, said that his country’s missile defense system was able to destroy about a dozen missiles in the capital and its surroundings, thus reducing the damage.
