Heavy rains fell in the main catchment areas of Castlereagh Reservoir on the afternoon of (24), ending the extremely dry weather conditions that lasted for almost two months in the western slopes of the Central Highlands.
Heavy rains fell in Hatton, Dik Oya and Norwood areas, and already due to the dry weather, the water sources in those areas were overflowing and there was an acute drinking water problem.
