Per capita income exceeds $5,000.

For the first time in history, the per capita income of a Sri Lankan has exceeded $5,000, said Deputy Minister of Tourism, Professor Ruwan Ranasinghe. He said this while expressing his views in Parliament today.

“We took over a country that has been a scumbag who has represented this parliament for decades, handled ministries, and destroyed the country. Now they come to us and advise us about the progress report and the L-Board. Their political parties have also been destroyed and are no longer on the right track.

Within one year of our taking over the country, last year Sri Lanka’s gross domestic product approached $109 billion. Also, for the first time in history, our country’s per capita income has exceeded $5,000,” he said.
