Pavithradevi Vanniarachchi, the Minister of Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation and Irrigation, announced that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will make a decision within the next two months to support President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the most suitable candidate to contest the upcoming presidential election.
She made this statement during a meeting attended by ministers, deputy ministers, former provincial council members, former regional council chairmen, and Members of Parliament representing the Ratnapura District of the SLPP.
Vanniarachchi emphasized that the SLPP is the main political party in the country and that no party can form a government without its support.
