The winning name selected for the Nile hippopotamus calf born at Dehiwala Zoo is scheduled to be announced on October 1st, coinciding with World Children’s Day.
This name was chosen from among numerous suggestions submitted by children. A special prize will also be awarded on that day to the winner who proposed the name.
Accordingly, visitors are invited to the Dehiwala Zoo for the World Children’s Day celebration to learn the new name chosen for the hippopotamus calf.
