UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara says that the heads of several parties including the Sri Lanka Freedom Party have started negotiations to join the UNP and some of them are going to get on the UNP platform on May 1st.
He said this in a meeting held in Kandy’s Pathahewahata Constituency.
The United National Party broke away and then S.W.RD.Bandaranaike and other groups created Sri Lanka Freedom Party, which , is currently facing severe crises and the best course of action for them at the moment is to join the UNP. He also said that the presidential election will be held first.
He emphasized that those who say that there should be Pohottu marks on the ballot paper will present a candidate for the presidential election under that mark and that Ranil Wickramasinghe will run for the presidential election as a common candidate with an independent mark.
