Famous actress Damita Abeyratne and her husband, who were arrested in connection with a case of money fraud after claiming that they would be offered a foreign job in Korea, have been released on bail.
The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today (24) ordered that they be released on two sureties of Rs 50 lakh each.
On the 5th of last year, actress Damita Abeyratne and her husband were remanded by the court.
They were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department in relation to the investigations being carried out regarding the fraud of thirty lakh rupees by claiming that a person was going abroad.
