With the onset of rainy weather conditions, the National Building Research Organization has issued a landslide warning for four districts. Accordingly, the warning issued at 11:00 pm yesterday (02) will be valid until 11:00 pm today (03).
The areas where landslide warnings have been issued are as follows.
Landslide warnings have been issued under Stage 2 for the Pasbage Korale and Ganga Ihala Korale Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the Kandy District and their surrounding areas.
Similarly, warnings have been issued under Stage 2 for the Yatiyanthota Divisional Secretariat Division in the Kegalle District and the Ambagamuwa and Norwood Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the Nuwara Eliya District to remain vigilant.
In addition, warnings have been issued under Stage 1 for Aranayake and Dehiowita Divisional Secretariat Divisions in Kegalle District.
Early warnings have also been issued under Stage 1 for Nuwara Eliya, Talawakele, Kotmale East and Kotmale West Divisional Secretariat Divisions in Nuwara Eliya District as well as Nivitigala and Ratnapura Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas in Ratnapura District.
