Qatar’s energy minister has said that Iran’s attack on the Ras Laffan power plant will have a serious impact on the country’s economy.
Qatar’s natural gas (LNG) export capacity will decrease by 17% over the next five years, costing the country about $20 billion in annual revenue, he said.
The minister added that he knew the Iranian attack had caused serious damage, but he did not expect it to be this serious. Iran launched the attack on Ras Laffan in response to Israel’s recent attack on an Iranian gas field in the Persian Gulf.
