Appointment letters were awarded yesterday (14) to 100 individuals recruited as Assistant Train Drivers (Grade III) with the aim of enhancing the efficiency of the railway service. Department sources state that this recruitment was carried out in alignment with the national program launched to develop the human and physical resources of the Railway Department. Appointment letters were awarded to new recruits at a ceremony held at the Railway Auditorium within the Sri Lanka Railways Headquarters in Maradana, presided over by the Deputy Minister of Urban Development, Eranga Gunasekara.
Approximately 1,500 employees have been recruited to various positions within the Railway Department during this year alone.
