Russia has expressed its agreement to the proposal made by the President of Belarus to install nuclear weapons near his country’s border with Poland.
Accordingly, the Russian President mentioned yesterday that these weapons are expected to be sent to Belarus by the coming month of July. However, according to the report, Russia has decided not to give Belarus the ability to control those weapons.
Poland is a NATO member country, and foreign defense commentators introduce the installation of nuclear weapons near the country as a direct threat to NATO. They also say that this action will increase the tension in the whole of Europe.
Belarus a landlocked country belonging to the former Soviet Union, maintains a staunchly pro-Russian stance.
