A serious accident has occurred when a Sri Lanka Transport Board bus travelling from Colombo to Badulla veered off the road and fell into a ravine near the Diyatalawa railway station. It is reported that more than 40 people have been injured in the accident.
Immediately after the accident, local residents and relief teams have taken steps to rescue the passengers trapped in the bus, and all those who were injured have been admitted to the Diyatalawa Base Hospital. The Diyatalawa Police have initiated further investigations into the matter.
