Several schools in the Deniyaya Education Zone have been temporarily closed due to a flu outbreak that has been spreading among students for the past few days.
As a precautionary measure to prevent the further spread of the disease among school students, all schools in the Deniyaya Education Zone have been instructed to close yesterday (7) and today (8), said Deniyaya Zonal Education Director N. Hettigoda. She said that there has been a decrease in school attendance due to the flu outbreak.
The Southern Provincial Governor’s Office has issued this order after considering the prevailing situation.
