Sri Lanka Customs has reportedly agreed to release a stock of BYD vehicles of several categories detained by Sri Lanka Customs on bank guarantees and company guarantees before the Court of Appeal today (11).
Sri Lanka Customs had expressed this agreement when a petition filed by John Keells Private Limited, which imported the vehicles, was called for an order to issue an order to release the vehicles detained by Sri Lanka Customs.
President’s Counsel Farsana Jamil, who appeared on behalf of the petitioner, had informed the court earlier that the vehicles could be released on a bank guarantee or a company guarantee.
Accordingly, 625 vehicles belonging to the BYD Auto Premium 70 kW, Auto Dynamic 45 kW, Auto Premium 45 kW, Dolphin Dynamic 70 kW categories that were detained by the Customs are scheduled to be released on bank guarantees and company guarantees.
