Erasing the humiliation of the defeat against the visiting Afghanistan team in the first one-day match, the Sri Lankan team managed to win by 132 runs in the second one-day match between the two teams today.
The Sri Lankan team, who won the toss and batted first, scored 323 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
In batting, Kusal Mendis scored 78 runs, Dimuth Karunaratne scored 52 runs, Sadheera Samarawickrama scored 44 runs, Pathum Nissanka scored 43 runs, Dhananjaya de Silva scored 29 runs not out and Vanindu Hasaranga scored 29 runs not out.
In bowling, Farid Ahmed and Mohammad Nabi managed to take 2 wickets for the Afghanistan team.
The Afghanistan team who played the reply innings was able to score only 191 runs. Hashmatullah Shahidi 57. Dhananjaya de Silva managed to take 3 wickets, Vanindu Hasaranga 3 wickets, and Dushmantha Chameera 2 wickets for the Sri Lankan team.
Accordingly, both the teams in the tournament have won one match each and are tied.
