Chairman of the Committee on Government Accounts Lasantha Alagiyawanna has informed the police department to present the program for providing efficient service using modern technology within a month.
Many senior police officers including the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security, the Inspector General of Police were invited to this committee event. Earlier in 2016, when it was called before the Copa Committee, it is reported that although a recommendation had been given in this regard, the Committee has questioned the fact that it has not yet been implemented.
Attention was also paid to the use of expired tear gas and instructions were also given to destroy expired tear gas.
