Invitation to the President for the coronation of King Charles III

British media reports that President Ranil Wickremesinghe has been invited to King Charles III’s Mauli celebrations on May 6. The same media reports that in addition to the President of Sri Lanka, the name of Reverend Bogoda Seelawimala, the head of London Buddhist Temple, is also included in the invite list.

All arrangements have already been made for the coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Cathedral on the 6th. It is reported that nearly 2,000 people including religious representatives of foreign countries, representatives of royal families, presidents, and famous people are going to participate in this event.

Buckingham Palace released a statement to the media saying that the Queen Mother’s St. Edward Crown has now been refurbished for the coronation of King Charles III. It is a royal tradition to wear this historic crown when the new king or queen of the British royal family is crowned.

The British media reported that St. Edward’s crown contains 3,000 precious stones such as garnet, topaz and tourmaline, 2868 diamonds, 33 precious gemstones such as sapphires, emeralds and rubies, and 273 pearls.
