Yoshitha Rajapaksa’s revision petition seeking a ruling that the conspiracy charge filed against him by the Attorney General under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act cannot be maintained was taken up for hearing today.
This petition was filed stating that the case against him cannot be maintained on the charge of conspiracy with Daisy Forrest, one of the defendants in the case, after she was removed from the case.
When the petition was taken up for hearing, Attorney-at-Law Hafeel Faris presented arguments on behalf of petitioner Yoshitha Rajapaksa, while Deputy Solicitor General Janaka Bandara presented arguments on behalf of the Attorney General.
The Court of Appeal bench, comprising Justices Amal Ranaraja and Dr. Sumudu Premachandra, which concluded the trial, announced that its verdict would be announced on July 3rd.
