The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (17) ordered the release of Yoshitha Rajapaksa, who was arrested this morning by the Bribery and Corruption Prevention Commission in connection with an irregularity that occurred during his joining the Navy.
The Magistrate, who ordered the production of three sureties of Rs. 5 million each as bail conditions, also ordered a ban on Yoshitha Rajapaksa’s foreign travel.
Colombo Additional Magistrate Lahiru Silva issued this order after considering the arguments presented by the Bribery Commission officials and the lawyers appearing for the suspect when the relevant case was taken up today (17).
