Jackson’s son, Sajitha Anthony, said, ‘Jackson Anthony breathed with the life support machine that his family, relatives, and friends collected and gave to the Colombo National Hospital. He mentioned this while giving a speech of thanks at his father’s funeral.
Jackson Anthony’s body was cremated today at Ragama Holy Peter and Paul Church, and a large number of people, including artists, participated in it. Sajitha Anthony, who delivered the speech of thanks, said:
‘Our father was not hospitalized for 458 days, violating the right to life of the people! He was breathing with the help of a ventilator machine donated to the National Hospital by our family. Now, people who are looking for breathing can live for another 10-15 years with that machine. No one in our family has told us about it until now because they don’t want to beat the drum after doing good thing like that, as my dad doesn’t like such work.’
Jackson Anthony, receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of the National Hospital for a long time, was the subject of intense discussion on social media, and this statement by Sajitha Anthony can be considered an answer to that.”
