What can I do about the shortage of keeri samba – asks Dudley Sirisena.

Araliya Group Chairman and millionaire businessman Dudley Sirisena says that there is a shortage of keeri samba in the country due to a problem in paddy production.

“It is your responsibility as journalists to find out how much Nadu rice is available in the market when there is a shortage of Kiri Samba. A kilo of Nadu rice that was priced at Rs. 230 is now available at Rs. 170. Kiri Samba, which should be sold at Rs. 260, is not available at that price in the market. That shows that there is a problem with rice production here,” he said.

He said that a large amount of Nadu rice has been cultivated, while a very small amount of Kiri Samba rice has been cultivated in comparison. However, he said that as rice traders, they have to work according to the existing laws of the country and there is nothing they can do about the Kiri Samba shortage.

He said this while speaking to the media about the Kiri Samba shortage that has arisen in the country.
