The committee that investigated the accusation against singer Umara Sinhawansa that she sang the national anthem in an insulting manner during the opening ceremony of the Sri Lanka Premier League tournament has decided that she sang the national anthem in the wrong way.
Accordingly, the group has recommended in its report to take further action according to the instructions of the Attorney General regarding the unconstitutional singing of the national anthem. These recommendations have been given by the committee appointed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs to investigate the incident.
