Two earthquake prone areas are identified in Sri Lanka

Professor Atula Senaratne of the Department of Geology of the University of Peradeniya has identified several areas where earthquakes may occur in Sri Lanka in the future.

He said that the areas such as the inactive tectonic boundary from Trincomalee to Ussangoda, the reservoir-related areas around the central mountains have been identified as such.
