It is reported that tutoring classes conducted by teachers on fees after school hours on weekends or holidays for children from grades 1 to 5 in Uva province have been completely banned from today (22).
Through Circular 02/2023, written notices have been sent to the Provincial Education Ministry, Provincial Education Director, Regional Education Directors and Principals to prohibit such classes.
Also to take disciplinary action against teachers who do not comply with the said provisions
The Provincial Ministry of Education has decided and has taken steps to deploy investigation teams.
It is stated that this decision has been taken due to the complaints made by the Governor of Uva Province and the Ministry that the school teachers are ignoring the children of the school who did not attend their extra classes.
