President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka Rajeev Amarasuriya, who met the Chief Thero of the Malwatta Chapter this morning, told the media that the Tri-denominational Thero have sent a letter to the President stating that the proposed constitutional amendment to extend the retirement age of judges is inappropriate.
Accordingly, he further stated that the government has no moral basis for the proposed constitutional amendment.
