The National War Heroes Day celebration today is scheduled to be held in front of the War Heroes Monument at the Parliament Stadium under the patronage of the Hon. President.
The traffic plan to be implemented during that period is as follows.
From 03.30 pm on 19.05.2026, traffic will be restricted from Polduwa Junction exiting Colombo and Kiraham Junction entrying Colombo and will be diverted to the following alternative routes as appropriate.
Alternative routes:-
Vehicles coming to leave Colombo via Parliament Road via Polduwa Junction can travel via Battaramulla, Palantuna, Kiraham Junction.
- Vehicles entering Colombo from Kiannam Junction can proceed via Palantuna and Battaramulla.
Vehicles coming from Rajamalwatte via Bodhiraja Mawatha can proceed via Battaramulla Road and proceed via the required route.

From Japan Friendship Road Junction to Kimbulawala Junction.
