JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva has expressed his views on the allegations that decisions regarding the governance of the country are taken at the JVP headquarters in Pelawatte.
Participating in a discussion on Independent Television on February 4, he said that certain decisions regarding governance are taken at the party headquarters in Pelawatte and the reason for this is that the National People’s Power and the JVP meet at that office.
He pointed out that the government runs the country, that government is led by a political movement, and that political movement meets at the JVP headquarters in Pelawatte and accordingly Pelawatte is involved in governance.
He said that Anura Kumara Dissanayake is the President of the country as well as the leader of the JVP and that policy decisions for the formation of the government were also taken at Pelawatte.
Tilvin Silva said that there are no isolated individuals in his party involved in the governance of Pelawatte, and that any person is free to express their opinions and oppose them. However, he emphasized that in the end, everyone will agree on a common idea.
