Due to the increase in fuel prices, the three-wheeler fare should also be increased, said L. Rohana Perera, General Secretary of the National Joint Three-wheeler Drivers and Industrialists’ Association.
He stated that since the fare is currently Rs. 100 for the first kilometer and Rs. 90 for the second kilometer, it is essential to increase the fare for the second kilometer to Rs. 100 and requested the government to take necessary steps for this.
He also requested that the weekly fuel quota be increased to 30 liters as three-wheeler drivers are facing severe difficulties due to fuel restrictions.
