Three people have died due to electrocution in the Mampuriya area of the Norocholaya police division. Four people who were electrocuted have been admitted to the Puttalam hospital, of which three have died, Norocholaya police said.
The three deceased are residents of the Puttalam area and are aged 16, 22 and 29 respectively.
The accident occurred when an electric wire came into contact with an iron scaffolding of a newly constructed function hall building in the Mampuriya area. The people who were doing construction work on the scaffolding were electrocuted. Norocholaya police are conducting further investigations
