Those who went abroad are serving the motherland well.

The Central Bank report states that the total volume of remittances received from overseas workers between January and August amounts to US$ 6,131 million.This represents an increase compared to the same period last year. (The total remittance volume received during the first eight months of the previous year was US$ 5,116 million.)

Additionally, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka notes that US$ 748.6 million was received in remittances from overseas Sri Lankan workers during August, a figure that also shows growth compared to August of the previous year.

The volume of foreign remittances received by the country in August of the previous year was US$ 680.8 million.
