The verdict on the carrom board case will be given on the 9th

The case filed against former minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and current trade minister Naleen Fernando was called today, accusing the government of causing a loss of nearly 53 million rupees through the purchase of 14000 carom boards through Sathosa Institute to be distributed among sports associations during the 2015 presidential election.

The High Court said today that it will announce the order on the 9th of the following day regarding the request made by their lawyers to release Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Minister Nalin Fernando without calling the defense witnesses.

The case filed by the Bribery Commission was called today (01) before the three-member High Court bench of Amal Ranaraja, Pradeep Hettiarachi and Mahen Weeraman.
