The request of health workers is reasonable, but there is no money to give

Health Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana said today (13) that there is nothing wrong with health workers asking for allowances, but the Ministry of Finance said that there is no money to allocate such an allowance at this time.

72 health trade unions started a strike process demanding economic justice for the health staff and Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana said so at the press conference held today at the Ministry of Health to present facts about the development.

The minister said that the trade unions have not demanded the amount of 35000 rupees given to the doctors and they have demanded the allowance in different amounts at different levels.

The minister stated that it is not possible to replace the health staff with other people and he requested the health workers participating in the strike to report for duty.
