The immigration controller is informed to allow Basil and Mahinda to leave the country

The Supreme Court has ordered the Immigration and Emigration Controller today (22) that the travel ban imposed against former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa will no longer be enforced.

When the relevant petition was called today, the President’s lawyer who appeared for Mahinda Rajapaksa and Basil Rajapaksa, who are named as its respondents, stated before the court that the Supreme Court did not extend the foreign travel restriction order issued to his clients after the 7th of last October.

The President’s lawyer asked the court to issue an order informing the Immigration and Emigration Controller of this and the Supreme Court accepted the request and ordered the Registrar of the Supreme Court to inform the Immigration and Emigration Controller that the travel ban issued to the two respondents is no longer in effect.
