The Customs Media Spokesperson emphasized this at a special press conference held today (26).

“The departmental level investigation regarding Container 323 is called ‘post clearance audit’. Normally, we have a separate division to conduct post clearance audits. But since it is not possible for that division to do it alone when we go to audit 323 containers at once, there are various other divisions within the structure of our department that are conducting these investigations. I am currently working as the Director in charge of the Prevention Division of the Sri Lanka Customs.

At that time, my Prevention Division was also entrusted with a part of the relevant Container 323 to conduct the said investigations. So, we completed the post clearance audits that were entrusted to us in that regard, and we were not able to find any information related to any illegal activity in any of the companies we audited. But to issue the final report, we need to receive reports on Container 323 itself. .” He said.
