Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe says that there are two ways to remove the controversial tax package. The Governor of the Central Bank said that the two methods are to collect more people to pay taxes or to increase the government’s income and increase wages in some form.
Also, Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe said that in order to build the country, development in both the production and service sectors is necessary.
The contribution of agriculture to the national economy is senen percent (7%), but the amount of work in that sector is twenty seven percent (27%). He also said that through the improvement of agricultural production, it should be possible to get income of a person working in the service sector.
He added that although Sri Lanka went to the IMF 16 times, the program failed due to non-implementation of certain conditions.
