It is reported that former Minister Wimal Weerawansa has been summoned to the Central Criminal Investigation Division to provide a statement regarding allegations of making remarks amounting to contempt of court.
He has been instructed to appear before the Central Criminal Investigation Division at 10:00 AM tomorrow (Friday). This summons has been issued following a complaint received by the Inspector General of Police, alleging that Mr. Wimal Weerawansa made a statement amounting to contempt of court during a public rally organized by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in the Anuradhapura area.
