Minister Sunil Handunnetti said in Parliament today that $174 million will be allocated to settle the debts of Sri Lankan Airlines. He expressed these views while participating in the budget debate in Parliament.
“Instead of selling state-owned enterprises, the government has taken over the statutory payments of 10 institutions. Sri Lankan Airlines should have been sold. $174 million has been proposed to settle the debts in this year’s budget. Steps have been taken to keep it under the state and develop it.
