The government has requested owners of solar panel systems with more than 300 units installed on their roofs to shut down their systems.
In order to maintain the stability of the national electricity system, Deputy Minister of Energy Ilyas Muhammadu Arkam has requested consumers with a capacity of more than 300 units to shut down their solar panels from tomorrow (27) to the 29th.
Speaking in Parliament today (26), he said that the sudden power outage that occurred on the previous Vesak day could have been prevented by shutting down this system.
