The President’s Media Division (PMD) said that 442 of the 5000 land deeds reserved for local residents of Mannar district were symbolically awarded by President Ranil Wickremesinghe today.
This program, which is part of the national program ‘Urumaya’, is expected to provide 2 million freehold deeds across the country.
The ‘Heritage’ program is a flagship initiative of the current administration, which seeks to provide secure land tenure to millions of citizens, thereby fostering economic stability and development.
In addition to the distribution of deeds, President Wickremesinghe also held a special district development committee meeting at the Mannar District Secretariat..
The event was held at Mannar Municipal Council Auditorium.
