Former Provincial Councilor Waruna Rajapaksa says that a key ministry secretary is set to resign soon over the fraud that occurred in the process of bringing coal for use at the Lakvijaya Power Plant. He said this while hosting the ”Count Dawn with Waruna” YouTube program.
He also said that the said secretary has met several people in this regard and requested them to resolve the issue. It is reported that the wife of a powerful person is also among the people he met. Over the past few years, the process of purchasing coal in this country has been surrounded by various allegations and crises. The opposition has been continuously saying that the procurement process that took place this time was completely flawed.
Waruna Rajapaksa said that in addition to this ministry secretary, another minister is also preparing his resignation letter, and he has shown it to several of his friends.
