The continuous strike by the Electricity Board employees will continue today, and power outages have been reported in several areas of Colombo 9, 14 and Gampaha, according to sources connected to the Electricity Board.
However, it is reported that it will take some time to restore them due to the continuous strike by the electricity trade unions.
The trade union action, which was initiated based on 8 demands, including the non-issuance of regular appointment letters when employees were assigned to new institutions established after the restructuring of the Ceylon Electricity Board, began yesterday (09) at 3 pm, and the Ceylon Electricity Trade Unions say that it will continue for 24 hours.
