According to the latest data released by the Department of Census and Statistics, the official poverty line for June has increased to Rs. 17,592. This is an increase of Rs. 277 compared to the previous month of May.
The minimum amount of money required by a person per month to meet their basic needs is announced through the official poverty line.
According to the official poverty line for June, the poverty line value in the Colombo district has increased to Rs. 18,973, while the same value in the Gampaha district is recorded as Rs. 18,876.
In the Monaragala district, the same figure is Rs. 16,821.
